Based in Western Sydney, Nico is an emerging mixed media artist and painter, primarily focused on painting abstract works in which he intuitively develops compositions. Finding a visual harmony and sense of balance between the varying formal qualities in his works during painting, enjoying the prospect of not having a clear-cut conclusion to works before beginning the painting process. Concerned with combining aspects of hard-edge abstraction and romantic Greenbergian gesture. Likening fine-art to music he states, “I find representational observation-based art to be akin to lyrics where the abstract is simply sound.”
